Branding and Graphic Design ahead of your EOFY

While some of us are wondering where the first half of 2022 went (that’s me!), we are quickly approaching the end of financial year and getting our accounting tasks, bookkeeping updates and budget planning for the new financial year in order.

Martlette Graphic Design is no expert in the field of accounting and EOFY preparations, however I have put together a little inspiration for your business and the end of financial year and how you can get the new financial year off to a great start.

Do you have an EOFY offering?

If your business can offer a service or product that really speaks to the ‘EOFY pain points’ of your client base – let’s make it happen!

You may be able to offer a limited time discount to your regular clients or offer a service that helps them either get their financial reporting in order or plan for the coming financial year budget.

Whatever the initiative you need to promote, Martlette is on standby to assist with the graphic design of your online or printed promotional materials.

Marketing is a business expense too!

Don’t forget that marketing and promotion of your business are both common eligible expenses to claim when preparing your end of financial year tax reporting. This could include printed materials, refreshing your visual brand design, updates to your business website design – or just about any graphic design collateral that helps your business define itself in the marketplace and speak directly to your target audience. Graphic design that promotes and grows your business is a fantastic investment in our book!

When considering what marketing initiatives you would like to deploy, it is important to refer to your marketing plan and make sure any marketing initiatives are indeed ‘needed’. Spending hard earned cash just for the sake of EOFY tax benefits can sometimes get your marketing message ‘off track’ and is less likely to focus on a financial return for your business.

Check with your accountant

Your business accountant is a great source of guidance on what you can and cannot claim as a business expense before 30 June. Make sure you are invoiced for any purchases before 30 June so that they can be claimed in this financial year. Martlette is very often busy designing websites, brochures, flyers, business cards, signage and social media artwork in May for clients who want to meet the EOFY deadline.

Does your visual brand design need a refresh?

Has your business changed or expanded to offer other services and products over the last year or so? If so, you may feel that your visual brand and logo design needs a refresh?

A brand/logo refresh for your business can take about 4-6 weeks, depending on the scope of the project. So it may be unrealistic to expect a completion by the end of the financial year. However, your brand refresh project can be briefed, started and invoiced before 30 June if you prefer to have it paid for in the current financial year. Get in touch if you would like to discuss.

The season for Annual Reporting!

For some organisations, Annual Reporting is a regulatory requirement and for others it’s the perfect way to communicate your achievements to your stakeholders in a meaningful and illustrative way.

Now is the time to get started on your Annual Report message and planning your key information for your end of year report. Get in touch if you need assistance bringing your written, photographic and illustrative content together. At Martlette, we love designing Annual Reports and the experience of working with our clients to produce stand-out publications about their business achievements.
