The latest from the Martlette Graphic Design Studio

From interior designers, to the land of gourmet cheese and beef, to local surf board sale events!

The Martlette studio is always buzzing with exciting new projects from new and long term clients. We’ve enjoyed establishing some amazing relationships with new clients here in Geelong and further afield and as always, we’ve loved working with our long term clients too.

One of our favourite logo design projects was for From the Little Room Interiors.  A stylish yet simply logo mark was created as the result of a fantastic creative brief and in depth discussion about design direction for this boutique interior design company, based in Inverleigh, Victoria.

“My search for someone to help me with my Logo/Branding Design brought me to Cheryl Martin of Martlette Graphic Design. From her first response to the initial inquiry, to the end result of my beautiful new logo for From The Little Room Interiors, it’s been such a pleasurable experience. Cheryl understood quickly what it was I wanted to portray and is just a lovely person to work with. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Cheryl and Martlette Graphic Design.”

After an awe inspiring visit in 2017, to the natural wonder that is King Island, we worked with the King Island Council on their exciting visual rebrand design and a number of other projects since.  Their brand design was not so ‘new’ though and takes inspiration from the original King Island Council Coat of Arms.  We loved giving the old coat of arms artwork a new life through this brand design project.  We have featured some of the key elements of the Coat of Arms artwork to give staff at the Council their own personal choice of business card design.  King Island Council Mayor and General Manager have opted for the luxurious and thick black cotton card stock, with platinum foil embossed design on both sides, to really make an impact when networking interstate and abroad.

“King Island Council has embraced its history in a marketing strategy designed for the future. The Coat of Arms references local fauna and industry and was granted in 1973 by the College of Arms in London. Historical elements from the Coat of Arms will be adapted for a contemporary context in a bid to meet the modern needs of King Island while acknowledging its past. Historical elements from the Coat of Arms will be adapted for a contemporary context in a bid to meet the modern needs of King Island while acknowledging its past.”

Norlane Community Centre provides opportunities for local people to connect, learn and contribute in their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities.  The centre boasts rooms for hire and a hive of activity hosted by local organisations and club groups – which provided a rich source of inspiration for their new logo design.

Martlette loves working with the team at Norlane Community Centre since completing their visual brand design and have been involved in rolling it out into their stationery, signage and website designs.

“Martlette was extremely personable, professional and clear in her communication with us. She developed a great new logo and stationery for our small not-for-profit. Highly recommend this company.”

Our community partnership throughout 2018 and 2019 with the Barwon Health Foundation was a great success and we are immensely proud of the work we have completed for them, including email template designs, posters and more for their Giving Weekend  and collateral for their annual Gala event.

One of our favourite long term clients, Go Ride A Wave recently held their annual June Long Weekend Sale at their Torquay surf shop, resulting in people lining up in the early hours of the morning to ensure they didn’t miss out on a bargain.  From boards to wetsuits, there was plenty of ex-hire gear up for grabs and we loved being a part of designing their promotional imagery for email campaign designs and social media posts, in the lead up to the weekend.

At Martlette we love meeting people starting out in business and the folk from Naylor Builders are no different. We are proud to have recently completed their new logo design and supporting brand materials and cant wait to see the logo out and about as vehicle signage!

“Cheryl was fantastic to work with, very professional & made the design process a breeze!”
